1-CC60604 Corgi CORGI MARK VII CROMWELL TANK: 95mm Howitzer 1:50 Scale Cruiser Tank MkVII, A27M Cromwell Mark VI - Squadron HQ, B Squadron, 5th Royal Tank Regiment, 22nd Armored Brigade, 7th Armored Division, Holland 1945.

Tank regiments in the 22nd Armored Brigade were equipped, in the main, with British cruiser tanks including Cromwell Mk VI close support tanks with 95mm howitzer.

This particular tank had an additional stowage box added to the turret side and the so-called Normandy Cowl deflector at the back. Those regiments involved in Operation Blackcock were also given a coat of whitewash over the normal olive drab color. The various tactical signs should have been left visible, although this tended to defeat the purpose of the camouflage and was often ignored. Operation Blackcock was mounted in January 1945 in order to clear a pocket of land between the rivers Maas and Roer.

1-HC60507 Corgi CORGI: 1:50 Scale Henschel Sd.Kfz.181 Tiger Diecast Model -- German Army, Kurland, Germany, 1944 Production of the Tiger began in August 1942 and by August 1944, 1,355 of these tanks had been built. The 88mm main gun proved a powerful anti-tank gun, but the superior mobility of Allied tanks allowed them to attack from behind or from the side in the hope of brewing up a Tiger. The influence of Tiger tanks on allied morale grew to almost mythical proportions and was known as 'Tigerphobia.'

The Corgi Military Vehicles range presents highly-detailed, ready-made die-cast models of military vehicles. Corgi die-cast tanks require no gluing or painting. Each model is an instant display piece or diorama centerpiece straight from the box. Made from die-cast metal, die cast tanks from Corgi are 100% true to scale -- these don't look like model tanks, they look like tanks. Color, camouflage, and unit markings are carefully researched for maximum authenticity.

Corgi Military Vehicles die-cast vehicles feature: Die-cast metal construction with some plastic components; Rotating turret, elevating cannon and accurate hull in die-cast metal; Accurate moving tracks on detailed rotating wheels; Realistic panel lines, antennas, access panels, and surface details; and printed markings and placards that won't fade or peel like decals. 1 vol, 1 pgs 2004 UK, CORGI

1-HC60602 Corgi CORGI CROMWELL Mk. IV CRUISER TANK: Taureg II, 11th Armoured Division, Northwest Europe, 1944 1:50 Scale Cromwell tank was used by the British Army during the later stages of World War II. The Cromwell was ordered in 1941 and intended to replace the lightweight Crusader 'cruiser' tank by being more heavily armored, and, it was hoped, more survivable in battle. Its greater weight was to be driven by a 600-horsepower Rolls Royce Meteor engine, a derivative of Rolls Royce's line of aircraft engines. Initial models, however, were powered by other engines and were designated Cavaliers and Centaurs when they entered service in mid-1942. The first genuine Cromwells with Meteor engines entered service in early 1943.

The Cromwell tank weighed about 27 tons and had a top speed of 38 miles per hour and a range of between 80 and 170 miles, depending on the terrain. It was initially armed with a 75mm gun and two 7.92mm machine guns. The Cromwell's main assets were its speed, maneuverability, and ease of repair.

It first entered battle in large numbers in mid-1944, during the Normandy Invasion and the ensuing campaign across northern France. From Normandy on, Cromwells and American Sherman tanks formed the backbone of British armored divisions. Like the Shermans, however, most Cromwells were outgunned by the more powerful German Panther and Tiger tanks. Cromwell tanks served in British armies until the war ended in Europe in mid-1945. 1 vol, 1 pgs 2004 UK, CORGI

1-US51003 Corgi CORGI US51003, M4A3E8 SHERMAN TANK W/ FLAMETHROWER - USMC - 1:50 Scale The Sherman tank took the Allies through World War II and was upgraded for service in the Korean Conflict. The USMC used this tank's flame-throwing capability very effectively. Corporal Jerry Ravino was a Marine Corps tank loader and relates a harrowing story of bravery and courage that occurred on February 3rd, 1953, during 'Operation Clam Bake.'

In honor of its achievement, Corgi has come out with an amazingly accurate 1:50 scale diecast replica of the famed US Marine Corps M4A3 HVSS POA-CWS-H5 Sherman medium tank equipped with a flamethrower. Like the other vehicles in the 'Forgotten Heroes' Collection, this vehicle has been 'muddied' to give it a more weathered appearance.

During the Second World War the US Marines spearheaded the American response to Japanese aggression, leading to a ferocious island-hopping campaign. The technologically superior US forces made many amphibious assaults that wore down the Japanese and culminated in crushing American victories albeit with terrible loss of life on both sides.

US Marines in the Pacific Theatre of Operations were eager to get the job done be it with the bayonet, shotgun or their Thompson submachine guns. Their loyalty to their comrades and the Corps stood them in good stead as they faced a fanatical foe where no quarter was given no received.

1-WGBAI501 M3A1 HALF-TRACK: 28mm Kit 1 Plastic Vehicle, 28mm (1/56) scale, and Requires Assembly.

Over 40,000 M3 half-tracks were produced during World War II with many thousands of similar models also supplied to US allies. The M3A1 was ideally suited to rushing troops to the front and through gaps in the enemy lines. With a top speed of 45 mph, and armored enough to keep out most small arms fire, they performed admirably in this role.

They had a crew of three men and could carry ten fully equipped troops. There were many variations on the chassis including tank destroyers, mortar carriers, and ambulances, but most frequent by far were the M3A1 with its armament of a heavy .50 cal heavy machine gun and two or more .30 cal machine guns. 1 vol, 1 pgs 2016 UK, WARLORD GAMES
